Annual SELMAS conference:  Equity and Aspiration - How can education contribute to the creation of a more equitable society

Apart from our Chief Executive, Dr Carol Craig, other speakers include Professor Walter Humes, head teacher Gerry Lyons, Jim McColl, Scottish businessman and entrepreneur, and Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning. Danny Murphy, author of Schooling Scotland, one of our Postcards from Scotland books is also speaking at the event.

Film preview of The Divide based on the best-selling book The Spirit Level on inequality

There is a pre-screening talk on the film with its Director, Katherine Round.

At 2.30 following a break with stalls there are two talks: one from David Walsh from the Glasgow Centre for Population Health on Glasgow's inequality figures and one from Dr Carol Craig on her book on Glasgow - The Tears that Made the Clyde - which was inspired by reading The Spirit Level.
