Professor Carol Dweck is the Lewis and Virgina Eaton Professor in the Psychology Department at Stanford University in the USA. Much of her research is related to how people's self-conceptions affect people's motivations and achievement. She has now popularised her work in the hugely influential book Mindset: The new psychology of success. Professor Dweck has spoken at two Centre events in Glasgow and we have been collaborating with Stanford University on some research into the impact of mindset on the performance of pupils in some Scottish schools. The findings from this research will be publicised during the summer. Again Professor Dweck's work has been very influential on the Centre and we have devoted a section of the website to mindset ideas. In her talk Professor Dweck will talk about some of her latest research projects.
