The Centre has put together a Powerpoint to introduce parents and teachers to important ideas about young people's resilience.
The Powerpoint comprises 42 illustrated slides and is an attractive resource. It can be used to introduce colleagues in schools, or in other professional groups, to ideas about resilience. It also makes a good presentation at a parents' night. Teachers who have introduced parents to the importance of resilience and how it can be encouraged, have found the topic goes down well with parents. Indeed many parents say they feel relieved that they don't have to be so concerned about their child having days when they feel unhappy or frustrated.
For some of the other free Powerpoints we have produced we have also written a script. However, we think the ideas behind the resilience PPT are self-evident and can easily be presented by someone who has simply viewed the slides in advance and read some of the material in this section of the website. (Particularly the section called 'the root of the resilience problem in schools')
