The terminology explained

The complex array of terms used in the field of community development and organisation can be bewildering as the language can seem ambiguous and even within the field of community development the terms are often contested.

Aware of this problem the Scottish Community Development Centre has produced a briefing paper 'Community Resilience and Coproduction - Getting to Grips with the Language' in which it provides a glossary of the terminology used in debates about the way communities function.  It provides an explanation of terms and gives models and examples where appropriate to illustrate meaning.

This is a really helpful guide when exploring the ever-expanding field of research and enquiry into the nature and function of communites.
