Change the Way You View Failure

Successful people take failure, negative feedback and mistakes as learning opportunities.  Next time you ‘fail’ or make a ‘mistake’ think about what you can learn from this.  Asking someone to give you feedback on the failure may help you to think about how you might do it differently in the future.

Learning from failure is one of the best ways to succeed.  Sports Coach to the famous basketball player Magic Johnston said that the thing that differentiated Magic from his peers was not that he was more talented but that he was more willing and even wanted to fail.  Magic failed his way to success by using the setbacks he encountered to learn about what his strengths and weaknesses were.  Doing this allowed him to deploy this knowledge to his advantage.
