Mindset

Professor Carol Dweck's research clearly shows that a person's belief about their ability can be more important for learning than their ability. Her work has revealed that people can learn to adopt a growth mindset and that this has important ramifications for education.  The exciting news is that Dweck's research has found that adopting a growth mindset can help to build resilience and improve academic enjoyment and performance.  This section contains a large number of Mindset resources.

This section contains the findings of research into changing mindsets with university students as well as ideas on how to develop a growth mindset.  There is also information and a range of helpful resources for parents and carers who would like to find out about developing a growth mindset in children and young people, to find these just click here.
