The Centre's change in funding means that it will be doing fewer events. One of the ways we plan to keep in touch with our growing community is by holding 2-3 hour interactive, discussion sessions which we are calling 'Centre exchanges'. These meetings will be held all round Scotland and will allow Carol Craig, the Centre's Chief Executive, to explain developments at the Centre and how our thinking is progressing. They will also allow us to learn what people are doing, their priorities and what they think is currently working/not working in organisations and government policy. It is also a chance for like-minded people in an area to meet and discuss mutual areas of interest.
Where you come in
We are looking for organisations to work in partnership with us to hold one of these Centre exchanges. Organisations would need to provide a room which will take between 12 and 20 people and provide some hospitality (teas and coffees) for one of these exchanges. Places will be limited (20 max) and this means that those attending the meeting to exchange ideas, however, should not solely come from the host organisation.
At the present time we are looking to hold a few exchanges in Glasgow and Edinburgh (not just the city centres) as well as one during 2011 in each of the following places: Dundee, Dunfermline, Stirling, Aberdeen, Dumfries, Inverness and Ullapool.
If you would like to help us organise one of these Centre exchanges please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Information on the exchanges will be put on the Events section of the website as we finalise dates and venues. We hope you will be able to attend one of them.
