Isobel MacNaughtan is an independent professional facilitator, consultant and trainer. She has been associated with the Centre for Confidence and Well-being from its inception and was lead consultant on one of its earliest projects: the design of the Napier University Confident Futures programme.
Most of Isobel's professional life has been in education and she was Head Teacher of Cumbernauld High School before setting up her consultancy; as a result much of her work involves work in schools. On behalf of the Centre she has delivered courses in co-operative learning and in resilience. In particular, she delivers training in how to implement the Bounce Back programme – a highly regarded resilience programme for young people which was developed in Australia.
Over the years she has worked with a number of groups to support the development of confidence and resilience within organisations and with various stakeholders. Work with Outward Bound Metro on confidence and encouraging a growth mindset led to significant and measurable change in the mindset of targeted groups of young people. Her work with mentors, teachers and leaders involved with long term unemployed has led to new ways of working to support the development of confidence with this particular group.
As an organisational consultant Isobel facilitates large and small groups in tricky situations, or who are facing a daunting future.
